About the event

Come try out our Learning Lab program and learn about our fall programs.

Please note: Try-it-out day is not a drop off class.

What is Learning Lab?

Learning Lab is a class for elementary homeschoolers. We will focus on a weekly book or story, promoting social learning opportunities and academic encouragement. We will meet Learners where they are, academically and socially, and help them develop skills to be lifelong learners.

A typical day in Learning Lab might look like this:

  • Arrival and settling in (free time with art and stations)
  • In the morning meeting, we all come together, share something from our week, and explore our theme with a book and journal page
  • Snack time
  • A group activity that supports the theme
  • 3-4 activity stations exploring our theme using art, science, and math
  • Lunch
  • Cleaning up, free time with art, station/outdoor time

Beginning in August 2024, Tuesday will be a drop-off day and Thursday will be a Village Day where parents and Learners explore alongside each other.

The themes for Tuesday and Thursday programming will be coordinated each week, and the activities will differ so Learners can attend both days without repeating content.

Who is Learning Lab for?

Learning Lab will best benefit Learners on a elementary level. Multi-aged learning is a big benefit of homeschooling. In Learning Lab classes, group activities and stations will have multiple options of varying levels to meet different learners. For example, a writing station may include a letter recognition activity, word tracing, and creative writing prompts.

For Tuesday drop-off, learners must be able to use the bathroom independently.

Where and when is Learning Lab? How much does it cost?

Learning Lab will run from August 2024 to May 2025.

Tuition for Tuesday Learning Lab is $125/month for the first Learner and $50/month for siblings.

Tuition for Thursday Village Day is $100/month for the first Learner and $25/month for siblings.

A discount will be offered for students attending both Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please reach out for details on pricing.

We are so excited to partner with Gwinnett County this year and use their space at One Stop Buford.

Feel free to reach out to allyson@positivelyplayful.net with any questions! We can't wait to play and learn with your family soon.
